Copyediting is the process of making content grammatically correct. Our team of editors can review the content for grammatical accuracy. The editors not only correct any obvious errors (grammatical errors, spelling mistakes, punctuation and inappropriate length of the sentences) but also rewrite sentences and paragraphs if required to remove inconsistencies and ambiguities. Checks for consistency in tone, clarity, capitalization, font usage, numerals, spelling, style, jargons and factually incorrect statements are part of our copyediting process. The intent of the sentences is not modified. This process does not tamper with the writing style of the author. The document is edited using the Microsoft Word track changes feature. This Microsoft component allows the authors to quickly review/approve all changes proposed by the editor and move easily between the corrections. Comment and suggestions which are listed in the right-hand margin are easy to identify and accept.
Our science illustrators can make custom illustrations (drawings, sketches, cartoons) based on the content.
Our expert team reviews the work and provides the author with a couple of custom layouts. The target files are formatted and checked if they adhere to our style guide. In-house DTP takes over for layout changes if needed. After mutual consensus, we typeset the content in the said layout in a specific trim size to make the book print-ready.
Our experts review the work and custom design the cover matching the voice of the work it stands for. We provide the author with a couple of designs to choose from and this is finalized after mutual consensus. Images are selected from our stock photo repository. Aspects of the book cover include front cover, title design, back cover including book summary and author biography and ISBN barcode.
Proofreading is the process of reviewing the final draft of the booklet to ensure accuracy. It is the last stage of the process that precedes the production/printing. Though last, it is the most important step in the process.
Throughout the entire book production process, you receive email updates on the progress of your order. You're always in the loop. And if you ever have any questions about your order, call us to speak or write to us and we will be happy to help.
Frequently Asked Questions
Will the printed books match the colors on my monitor and/or desktop printer?
The digital proof will be a close representation of the printed books. We cannot prevent a slight color shift throughout an order.
What are the payment modes available?
We offer you the convenience of using your bank's Internet Banking service to make a payment towards our services. We also accept payments by cheque.
Can I speak or communicate directly with my editor?
No. Our service is a new and robust approach to editing projects. We are able to charge the lowest rates because of our unique and streamlined, editing network agreement. Once our editors have your book in hand, they spend quality hours on your book, providing corrections, fixes, and suggestions. After copyediting your book and providing some overall notes and comments, the editor moves onto their next project. Our editors are not compensated for any additional consultations. If you require that kind of relationship with an editor, our editorial services may not be a good choice.
When will my order ship?
Once you approve the proof, it typically takes around 5 workdays. Every effort will be made to accommodate your timeline. However, sometimes an unforeseen factor could lead to a delay. For example, an equipment malfunction, severe weather, power outage, UPS or trucking delay, etc. cannot always be known in advance. That is why we are unable to offer an absolute guarantee on the ship date or delivery date.
What are your work order cancellation terms?
If you want to cancel your order, write to us on firstname.lastname@example.org. You can cancel an order as follows:
For copyediting – In order to provide you quick and inexpensive service, we start the editing work immediately after receiving your document. We can cancel your order within 3 workdays from the date when we receive your documents for copyediting. After that 3 workdays window has passed, the work order can't be canceled.
For printing – We can cancel your order until we start production of the books. If you are requesting for work order cancellation, 25% cancellation charges will be deducted from the total printing order amount.
